Newborn Check List
          This is the list that is very much helpful for every expecting Mothers (staying in abroad)

 

Basic List

If you are thinking about changing table then go with ‘pack and play’ play yard  with bassinet and changing table 

  • Aveeno Shampoo, body wash , body lotion and if needed oatmeal bath powder for more dry skin

  • Hooded Towels - 3

  • Wash cloth - 6

  • Alcohol wipes, Baby buds

  • Vaseline

  • Diapers and wipes

  • Receiving blanket big and soft - 4

  • Socks -4 pairs at least

  • Booties- 2 pairs (no need of shoes)

  • Mittens- 3 pairs

  • Hat – should cover the ears

  • Sleep Sack

  • Thermometer

  •  Nail filler

  • nail cutter

  • comb- these are mostly used items 

  • Car seat- if u like u can go with the hospital provided one- you need to pay $20.00

  • Light weight stroller

  • Swing

  • Bouncer

  • Bottles – Avent or Dr. Brown’s

  • Bib- 4

  • Burp Cloth or you can use small blankets

  • Diaper Bag

  • Diaper Disposer

You are having a winter baby. 

  •  Two hats: heavier-weight ear covering hat for cold weather

  •  Two sweaters, weight according to season

  • One bunting with attached mitts for cold weather, baby bags work well too

  •  Two blankets, weight according to season

  •  Four sleepers

  •  Six pairs of bootees or socks

  •  Three receiving blankets

  •  Six onesies

  • Three lightweight tops (kimonos, sacques, and or gowns)

  • Four rompers (snap-crotch outfits)

  • Two washable bibs

  •  Outing clothes, according to age and occasion

You are planning on using disposable diapers.

  •  A Diaper Pail

  •  2 packs of newborn sized diapers

  •  Wipes (disposable or washable)

  •  Ointment

You are planning on breastfeeding.

  •  Nursing Bras

  •  Breast pads

  •  Possibly breast pump for times you are away or equipment for hand expression

Bathing Supplies

  • Two soft washcloths

  • Two terry-cloth towels with hoods

  •  Mild soap and shampoo

  •  Baby bathtub (optional)

  •  Baby brush and comb

  • Baby nail scissors or clippers

Traveling

  •  Car seat (convertible or rear facing for infants under 20 lbs)

  •  Stroller

  •  Diaper bag (packed)

  •  Sling or carrier

Handy to have around

  •  Prop for side sleeping (can also use rolled baby blankets)

  •  Mild laundry soap

  •  Petroleum jelly

  •  Rectal thermometer

  •  Antiseptic for cord care

  •  Nasal aspirator (an ear syringe may be used)

  •  Antibacterial ointment

  •  Cotton Balls

  •  Cotton swabs

  •  Acetaminophen

  •  Vaporizer, type to be recommended by practitioner

  • Calibrated dropper, syringe, or spoon for administering medicine
